Formula Austin is hosting the second annual 'The Best of Texas' race weekend concert and for 2013 welcomes the Best of GREAT Britain to the Lone Star State on Friday, Nov. 15

Among them is a night of live music and nightclub dancing onFriday night and going very early into Saturday morning. Presented by local race events teams Formula Austin and Blu at the W, the “Perfect F1 Friday Night” will start with a concert at 8 p.m. and a nightclub after-party until 4 a.m.

A concert featuring Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel, Pat Green and Jerry Jeff Walker is also planned for Nov. 15 at the ACL Live at the Moody Theater. The concert is part of several Texas-based experiences put together by cousins Anne and Andy Fish. The experiences also include a rare night-time stop at Franklin Barbecue, a shopping spree at Neiman Marcus and an afternoon of riding and roping.

Andy Fish, President of Formula Austin, was asked to explain Formula 1 to the attendees in 10 minutes. This presentation covers the history of F1, the three components of F1, the impact of F1 on the cars that we drive today, and the economic impact of Formula 1.

The Formula 1 race weekend in Austin will kick off with a concert showcasing legendary Texas artists at ACL Live at The Moody Theater on Thursday, November 15. "We wanted to show visitors to Austin what the 'Live Music Capital of the World,' means," said Andy Fish, President of Formula Austin, the production company hosting the event.

Anne Fish, who founded Formula Austin — an Austin-based company that offers Austin-area destination packages for F1 fans — with her cousin Andy, said she is mostly receiving two kinds of reaction from fans. One group is excited about the Austin race, and the other is misinformed, believing that area hotels all are booked, that no race tickets are available or that the circuit's track will be flat and uninteresting. None of those three things is true, but some fans have those impressions, Fish said.
